Outline |

 |
 |
As broadband becomes popular in the subscriber
system, the traffic volume in the metro system is increasing. Laser
diodes used in the metro system require wide temperature range
operation in order to achieve cost reduction and miniaturization
and, at
the same time, require wavelength line-up capable of CWDM (Coarse
Wavelength division Multiplexing) for high capacity
communication. We have developed a Distributed-Feedback Laser Diode
(DFB-LD) for CWDM capable of 2.5Gbps, 100km transmission in a wide
temperature range of 0–85°C, which is perfect for such
usage. |

Future Deployment |
 |
 |
 |
We think promotion of higher efficiency of elements and operation in wider temperature range will be required more and more in the future. Therefore, we plan to promote development of elements capable of higher efficiency and operation in wider temperature ranges. |
